Caninsulin 40 iu/ml Suspension for Injection

Caninsulin

Caninsulin is an insulin product for dogs and cats. This product may only be prescribed by your veterinary practitioner from whom advice should be sought.

Caninsulin contains porcine lente insulin at a 40 i.u./ml concentration, and is licensed for use in both dogs and cats. Caninsulin is an intermediate acting insulin product containing porcine insulin, which is structurally identical to canine insulin. The combination of the 40 i.u./ml concentration and the availability of 10ml (400 unit), 2.5ml (100 unit) vials and 2.7ml cartridges (108 unit) ensures that broached vials are used quickly and assists with achieving accuracy and consistency of dosing.

MSD Animal Health supply specific 40 i.u./ml syringes for use with Caninsulin. Caninsulin cartridges are administered using a specialised administration syringe called VetPen. A convenient video providing instructions on how to use VetPen is available by clicking here.
