Product Information for Veterinary Healthcare Professionals

Bovilis Huskvac is an aqueous suspension of third stage-infective Dictyocaulus viviparus larvae partially inactivated by ionizing radiation. Bovilis Huskvac is indicated for the prophylactic immunisation of young cattle against parasitic bronchitis attributable to Dictyocaulus viviparus. Bovilis Huskvac should be administered orally to healthy calves which are 8 weeks or older. Two doses of Bovilis Huskvac are required, separated by an interval of approximately 4 weeks.

The use of Bovilis Huskvac as part of the parasite control strategy in combination with wormers may seem complicated, and vets should ideally discuss this with farmers in order for them to understand the importance of vaccination for the development of a protective lifelong immunity against husk in cattle.
